The Global Assessment Certificate (GAC) is a 9.5 month bridging program designed for students who have been accepted into an undergraduate program at Dalhousie but do not meet the University’s English language proficiency requirement. It focuses on improving English language proficiency and building skills necessary to successfully complete an undergraduate degree, through the study of English, mathematics, computing, business, science and social science.

课程简介:
• These courses aim to develop your reading, listening, writing, speaking skills and your academic research and study skills in preparation for university study.
• EAP Foundation English focus on building strong language skills, while EAP levels 1 and 2 work on expanding high-level academic skills.
• Academic skills covered include:
Writing a range of academic texts, including research essays and reports
Collecting, organizing and evaluating information for writing purposes
Research techniques using the Dalhousie library and on-line resources
Strategies for better reading and note-making of academic texts
Strategies for better listening and note-takling in the academic environment
Expansion of academic vocabulary
Avoiding plagiarism and maintaining academic integrity
Participation in university seminars and tutorials
Preparation and delivery of academic oral presentations
Effective study techniques, independent learning, and study planning
适合学生类型:
1、Students who have been conditionally accepted into a Dalhousie academic program but do not meet the University’s English language requirements
2、Students who have passed the language requirements and been accepted into a Dalhousie program but know that they could benefit from an intensive course in academic English
3、Anyone who wishes to improve their English beyond the general skills level
