       东京女子医科大学全称东京女子医科大学Tokyo Women's Medical University也有人叫,成立于1900，是一所规模小型（10000以下）的公立教学型综合大学

　　Tokyo Women’s Medical University was founded in 1900 by Yayoi Yoshioka as Tokyo Women’s Medical School. Her conviction that medicine is a suitable professional for women, and the philosophy that medical professional need to be sincere and compassionate in every way have prevailed over the 110 years of school’s history. Our mission is to uphold her conviction and philosophy to the context of present-day medical education, research and practice. Our undergraduate schools (Schools of Medicine and Nursing) have been kept as dedicated educational sites for women, whereas postgraduate and professional educations are open to both genders.　　Our medical and nursing educations must continue to improve to provide the highest professional education available. In an international external evaluation of the medical school in 2012, the school was recognized to surpass the global standards of medical education set by the World Federation for Medical Education. Graduate schools aim to train academic professionals who will contribute to the future of medicine.　　The university is also a site of basic and clinical research. Our research institutes include the Institute of Advanced Biomedical Engineering and Science in which fusion of engineering and medicine fosters unique and internationally recognized research in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Our sincerity in research, the extension of the founder’s belief, is to provide outcomes that contribute to the welfare of patients. The university is establishing research coordination system linking basic and clinical research.　　Our compassion in clinical medicine, a radiation of founder’s belief, is providing medicine that answers the community needs. We operate more than 10 medical facilities that provide different types of service including advanced medicine, community medicine, and gender-specific medicine. Patient-oriented and high quality medical practices are at the core of our services.　　Tokyo Women’s Medical University is a site of challenges in medicine for a better practice of “Sincerity and compassion” in the global era.
