The great appeal of these sites and shows is thatthey help us learn as much as possible about public figures. The more we knowpolitical candidates, for example, the more informed we are as voters. Much ofthe information, however, is irrelevant and actually prevents us from focusingon the issue.

　　例子二：著名残疾人Nick Vujicic (原始素材，来自wiki)

　　Nick Vujicic is anAustralian motivational speaker born with tetra-amelia syndrome, a raredisorder characterized by the absence of all four limbs.

　　Asa child, he struggled mentally and emotionally as well as physically, buteventually came to terms with (与…达成妥协)his disability and, at the age ofseventeen, started his own non-profit organization, Life Without Limbs. Vujicicpresents motivational speeches worldwide on life with a disability, on hope,and on finding meaning in life. He also speaks about his belief that God canuse any willing heart to do his work and that God is big enough to overcome anydisability.

　　Vujicic gradually figured out how to live a full lifewithout limbs. He writes with two toes on his left foot and a special grip thatslides onto his big toe. He knows how to use a computer and can type up to 43words per minute using the "heel and toe" method. He has also learnedto throw tennis balls, play drum pedals, get a glass of water, comb his hair,brush his teeth, answer the phone and shave, in addition to participating ingolf, swimming, soccer, and sky-diving.
