　　The reading text^holds the point that the high tax on people who smoke and buy unhealthy food is of great

　　significance, however, the professor's point is different from the reading.

　　The first point that the professor uses to refute the reading is that high prices of the goods drive people to

　　buy cheap and low quality products, which is unhealthy . However, this is different from the reading, which

　　states that the high tax on the products can prevent people from buying cigarette and unhealthy food.

　　Moreover, contrary to the belief in the passage that smokers will spend more money on medical cost when

　　they pay the same insurance with others, thus being unfair to those who do not get ill. The professor

　　believes that the same tax is financially unfair to the low income people.

　　Finally, the reading says the tax can become revenue, allowing the government to establish new public

　　places. Whereas, the professor points out that the pubic places are not allowed to smoke, for example, the

　　park is unfair for those who do not smoke but have to pay the money.(186)

　　Agree or disagree: Your job has greater happiness than your social life.

　　The past decades have witnessed a great leap in the development of the society. And we are now

　　attaching great importance to the sense of happiness. As a vital factor in our life, happiness brings us

　　power, arouses our enthusiasm for loving life, and helps us to create a promising future. Some people

　　are in the view that our job has greater happiness than our social life. But I disagree with that.

　　Admittedly, our job brings happiness，as it can meet both our material and spiritual needs. As we can

　　gain money by working hard，we can use the money to buy grand houses, invest on children's education,

　　or realize one's own dreams, to name a few. If all the goals are accomplished, people will feel delighted.

　　Besides, we will realize our self value and social value in our work，thus meeting our spiritual needs.

　　For example, when it comes to men like Bill Gates, charity work reaches new levels of generosity and

　　commitment. Well-known for founding the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation while also contributing to

　　many other causes, Gates is not only one of the wealthiest men in the world - he is also one of the most

　　giving. Besides, he gave away all of his fortune to charity when he retired. He gains happiness from his

　　work.

　　However, a healthy relationship with our friends is the source of happiness and harbour of our heart.

　　Communication with friends could help us get away from the pressure in our work. When we are in blue,

　　we can talk with our friends, thus extricating ourselves from morbid emotions and even solving problems.

　　Besides, some group work like singing, dancing and playing basketball together help us totally relaxed.

　　For example, when playing basketball, we can meet new friends, learn to cooperate with others and

　　enjoy the feeling of victory.

　　Last but not the least，by engaging in social life, we can befriend people from all walks of life. Thus，

　　we can enlarge our social networking and have a happier life . For instance，author Michael Lewis said

　　at a speech: "One night I was invited to a dinner, where I sat next to the wife of a big shot at a giant Wall

　　Street investment bank, called Salomon Brothers. She more or less forced her husband to give me a job.

　　"Then he was so happy that he got a fantastic job and wrote the book Liar's Poker which was a hit to the

　　country. If he did not take part in the dinner, he would never have become so successful and delightful.

　　In light of what we have discussed above, although our job brings pleasure , a healthy relationship with

　　our friends and a large social networking makes us much happier.(462)
