　　VT ECE Department, Virginia Tech Research Center(Arlington) currently has 3 immediate GRA opennings in the areas of pattern recognition, machine learning, signal processing, complex systems modeling, data mining and visualization, with applications to computational biomedicine.

　　CBIL is located at one of the three largest biomecial research clusters in the US(Metropolitan Washington, DC). We have established active collaborations with Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, Harvard Medical School, Stanford University, Georgetown University Medical Center...

　　We are seeking highly qualified and motivated candidates who are interested in truly scientific research career (extending math and engineering into life sciences).

　　Our research is focused on:

　　1)statistical modeling and signal and pattern analysis of genome-wide high throughput genomic and molecular data (Next Generation Sequencing, SNPs, DNA copy numbers, genomic indels, gene/protein expressions, epigenetic events)

　　2)modeling, simulation and inference of biological networks (regulatory, signaling);

　　3)modeling and analysis of the interplays between genomic variations and biological networks.

　　Candidates are expected to have electrical/electronic engineering or closely related background, e.g., applied mathematics, systems and automation, biomedical engineering. Applicants should have solid skill or rich experience in the areas(some but not necessarily all) of 1)signal processing 2)machine learning 3)pattern recognition 4)system theory

　　5)applied mathematics 6)probability and statistics
