　　PhD studentship in Computer Animation

　　BACKGROUND

　　The Research Group on Computer Graphics and Visualization in School of Informatics, Edinburgh University is looking for PhD applicants from Mainland China. We have a joint, full-funded scholarship from the University of Edinburgh and China Scholarship Council. We are especially interested in research topics about character animation, crowd simulation, physically-based simulation and virutal environments. The Computer Graphics and Visualization Unit is a young research group currently lead by Taku Komura, a Reader (Associate Professor) in School of Informatics, Edinburgh University. The unit has been successfully publishing papers in prestigious journals and conferences, including ACM Transactions on Graphics (ACM SIGGRAPH, ACM SIGGRAPH Asia), IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, ACM SIGGRAPH Interactive 3D Graphics, Eurographics and Pacific Graphics.

　　REQUIREMENTS

　　Applicants should have at least a upper second class degree either in computer science or electrical engineering (or a closely related area) and strong in C++ programming skills. They must also have taken computer graphics courses during their study.

　　APPLICATION SUBMISSION

　　Applicants should apply to the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh for PhD admission by 1st February 2013, and should complete a China Scholarship Council/University of Edinburgh Joint Scholarship application form which should be submitted to the School of Informatics the same time as making an application for PhD admission.
