创伤研究专业简介

This programme addresses the needs of a range of adults who work or seek employment in a variety of settings involving knowledge, skills and expertise in understanding and helping individuals with trauma. This award will enable you to develop, extend and deepen your knowledge of theory and practice systematically and enable you to begin to develop expertise in psychosocial aspects of helping, psychotherapy and counselling work with a variety of individuals experiencing trauma, and to complete a dissertation in the topic of trauma studies. The programme will employ an inclusive notion of trauma. In doing so, the programme will utilise the existing research, knowledge and skills of full and part-time staff in the School of Sociology and Social Policy and in the Centre for Research in Schools and Communities, School of Education.
