　　A. Which person do you want to know more about? Explain why.

　　B. Describe an event or celebration you recently attended. Do you think everyone had a good time?

　　C. What is your favorite place for outdoor activity in a nice day?

　　Task2

　　A. Do you agree or disagree that students should be required to go to school before they are age 16?

　　B. Do you agree or disagree: Sixteen-year-olds are not mature enough to drive cars.

　　C. Some people think that students should study during weekends, but others think that they should relax and to socialize. Which do you prefer?

　　Task3

　　A. [学校通知] The school is planning to install some computers with internet connection in the hall of the students hall building, but access to these computers is limited to only 10 minutes for each person.

　　[学生态度] Good idea.

　　a. These computers will be useful when she wants to send a quick email to her professor, or when checking the direction to a location.

　　b. The 10-minute limit is necessary because this will prevent students from hogging the computer, sending messages or doing assignment.

　　B. [阅读] In the letter, the students suggests that the school install a study lounge where students can have a rest between classes, hold a group discussion and study.

　　[听力] Good proposal.

　　a. The library is too far away from the classroom. Installing a study lounge will help students take better advantage of time between classes.

　　b. Students can not only study in the lounge, but also continue the unfinished topics of class in the lounge.

　　Task4

　　A. [概念] Learning Transfer - past experiences affect learning and performance in a new situation; It can occur in positive or negative ways.

　　[实例]

　　a. He played the piano without looking down at the keyboard- positively transferred to his typewriting class in high school.

　　b. His friend used to be a stage actor, speaking loudly on the state – negatively transferred to his later career as a movie actor.

　　B. [概念] Alarm Calls - some animals give out alarm calls to respond to danger, so they can warn their companions of an approaching predator. However, sometimes a counterfeit alarm call is deliberately used by an animal just to frighten their companions away.

　　[实例] The vervet monkeys often search their food together and share it with each other. When one monkey spots a leopard, it would cry out loudly so other members would immediately run away. However, the scientists found there was no leopard nearby. In a while, other monkey returned, only to find that the calling monkey was eating the food alone.

　　Task5

　　A. [学生困难] The woman has to arrange a field trip she has organized because the planned destination is closed.

　　a. The waterfall

　　b. The natural museum (an idea place for learning)

　　B. [学生困难] The boy’s camera went wrong and the sculpture pictures cannot be used in his article to be published

　　[解决方案] The girl recommends two solutions

　　a. To submit the article without the photos

　　b. To borrow a camera to retake the photos (article with pictures- attract more attention; much faster to retake the photos)

　　Task6

　　A. Loon birds have two types of feather to protect them in the cold water

　　a. The outer layer of the birds’ body- keep the water going into the body

　　b. The down feather- keeps the bird warm

　　B. Service (two methods a business can use to advertise and promote its service)

　　a. Ask customer to write testimonials (eg. The painting company can ask its former customers to write a good comment on their service)

　　b. Illustrate a comparison between the wall before and after the paint
