I’d like to talk about the differences between the high school in my hometown and the high school in Beijing I’ve been to.
My hometown school is more focused on helping the students prepare for the college entrance examination of China whereas the Beijing high school pays attention to not only students’ academic capabilities, but also their extracurricular activities. This is why my hometown high school did a great job improving its teaching facilities, such as the computer lab and chemistry experiment center, while the Beijing school made a huge investment in building up the stadium, gymnasium and things like that.
Personally speaking, I like the second way of running a school more.
I don’t agree with this statement and I have a couple of reasons.
First of all, actually we have a lot of artists who were not born in a family well-known for its artistic tradition. As long as those who attempt to be an artist go to study in a proper school of art where they receive quality training, at least part of them would have the chance to make an artist.
In addition, I don’t think being an artist requires only the genes from the family. If people with the gift don’t have the necessary surroundings, such as beautiful views or sounds of nature, to help them understand the gist of art and inspire their creativity, they would have trouble finding their styles.
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: the way a person is dressed is a good indicator of his or her personality?
We can see a person's personality from many aspects of life, such as his or her gestures, the way he or she talks with others and especially the dress. Therefore when it comes to the statement that the way a person is dressed is a good indicators of his or her personality, I cannot agree more.
Undoubtedly we have to admit that sometimes the way a person is dressed is a wrong indicator of his or her personality. For example an extroverted person may wear bright color sometimes while an introverted person may love dark color at times. In addition, a rich man may wear in an ordinary way just like Steve Jobs, who always wears a black polo and a blue jean while a poor man perhaps shows off wearing expensive clothes.
However there are some arguments against these points above. First, although dressing does not work sometimes, it is effective in showing one's personality most of the time. According to a research in US, an outgoing person would like to wear yellow or red while. Furthermore, although Steve Jobs kept low profile in dressing, that does not mean that we can not tell whether he is well-educated. From his clean and casual way of dressing we can judge that he was a man who loved the life and paid much attention to details.
In addition from one's way of dressing in the daily life we can tell one's personality. A pair of thick glasses with casual clothes can be regarded as a nerd. Without studying so hard they would not be so near-sighted; sports shoes and T-shirt can be recognized as a sports fan; moreover one's way of dressing in the work place can show one's character as well. An office lady can be professional in dressing while a boss can be more like a big thumb; even in campus we can tell from dressing who are students with youthful wearing and who are professors with more mature clothes.
In conclusion we can tell from one's dressing the general personality even though some specific character takes time to be discovered. No matter you are mature or immature, careful or careless, extroverted or introverted, it can all be revealed on your dress.
